Scholarships Awarded to Members of the Class of 2021:
The following 23 scholarships to be presented are from the Hopedale High School Alumni Association, which has awarded scholarships to our graduates since 1+35. This year's scholarships total more than $80,000, including $30,000 to ten members of the Class of 2020 who are now in college. We are deeply grateful to the Alumni Association and to the families for their exceptional support of our graduates and of all our public schools. Due to continuing COVID restrictions, the Alumni Association was once again not able to be represented at Commencement. The Board of Directors would like to etend their best wished to all of today's graduating class.
The Alumni Scholarship in the amount of $2000 each to Maeve Griffin and Angelina O'Connor. $1000 scholarships were awarded to Adam Banayan, Kyle Dupuis, Kayla Lelio, Tyler Small, Caroline Smith, and Katherine White.
Private/Family Sponsored Scholarships Given to the Class of 2021:
The Philip Roberts Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $400 to a student who has enhanced the school with their musical ability is presented to Joshua Fumia.
The Shoghere Markarian Scholarship in the amount of $600 to two students who have been active in band or chorus and who will attend a college of music or minor in music are presented to Kelsey Grillo and Edda Phillips.
The James S. Midgley and Elizabeth K. Midgeley Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a student who demonstrates leadership qualities, initiative and accomplishment in the arts and sciences is presented to Kayla O'Loughlin.
The Albert C. Sayles Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a student with an interest in Mathematics and who shows leadership on and off the athletic field is presented to Kyle Murray.
The Regina Stare Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a student who plans to pursue a degree in education and is involved in community service and extracurricular activities related to helping others is presented to Katherine White.
The Henry L. Cyr, Sr. Scholarship for Patriotism and Service to their school, community and to our nation in the amount of $1000 is presented to Caleb Jackson.
The Alumni Association Lucy Day Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 for academics, leadership and service is presented to Maeve Griffin.
The Glendon and Dorothy Horne Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $3,000 for academic excellence, leadership and service is presented to two students: Maia Beaudry and Andrew Spiezio.
And finally, the Alumni Association is pleased to present the Glendon and Dorothy Horne Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence, leadership and significant personal achievement in the amount of $5,000 each to the following six students: Mykenzie Black, Bianca Fitch, Natalia Lee, John McDonough, Maggie Sacco, and Madison Sullivan.

Academic Grants Provided to the Hopedale Public Schools in 2021-2022:
Bright Beginnings Learning Center: $5000- We helped fund a new classroom, Math curriculum and Scholastic My Big World curriculum, classroom shelving and other academic programs materials.
Memorial Elementary School: $15,000- Lexia Core5 Reading online program that accelerates literacy skills for students of all abilities and two different Math subscriptions to help provide essential skills with programs the students can access at home, as well as in school.
Junior-Senior High School: $20,000- Calculators for the Math Department; funding for a combination of books, classroom theory and shop-based projects to benefit the construction trades apprentice preparation program; two new pottery wheels for the Art Department; EV3 Lego Robotics Core Sets for the robotics club; and assorted other purposes such as computers, a Career Development Program, and Math curriculum subscriptions.

HHSAA 8TH Grade Civics Education Essay Competition:
This year’s essay topic was “What Does ‘Good Trouble’ Mean to You Today?” The essays were outstanding! Our winners received certificates and checks. First prize of $300 went to Leah Hodgdon, second prize of $200 went to Charbel Jabara, third prize of $100 to Ryan Dupuis and two honorable mention prizes of $50 each to Abby Savaria and Riley Mulligan.

Boys and Girls State and Student Trooper Programs:
